With the help of undocumented immigrants he smuggles into the US, a former CIA operative seeks atonement for his sordid past by creating his own version of the “American Dream”.

Three decades after his disappearance, Wes, a former CIA operative connected to the Iran-contras scandal, resurfaces in contemporary Detroit. In his search for atonement, Wes “rescues” undocumented immigrants from coyotes who held them captive, but leaves a dangerous trail behind. When Wes locks the immigrants in the basements of the run-down properties he owns, he claims that it is for their protection. Finding themselves in forced captivity once again, the immigrants must decide whether to aid their “savior” or escape their “captor”.
